Interested in an evening of facial reconstruction?
UPDATE: **Looking at Weymouth venues! Looking at BOTH Wednesday 27th May and Saturday 20th June, 6-8:30pm on both days, should venues be appropriate for this. I will also be booking one in Netherbury, Bridport at their village hall - date pending (possibly Friday 19th June or Saturday 4th July) please get in touch if you are interested! Booking link will be available as soon as I confirm with a venue.**
After speaking to more than a few people today about facial reconstruction (amongst many other things!), I’m putting the feelers out for a possible adult evening workshop… 🦴☕🌿
This would be a relaxed, small-group session exploring how facial reconstructions are created using anatomy, osteology, archaeology, forensic science and a little artistic interpretation along the way.
We’d look at:
- how skulls help shape a face
- tissue depth and facial structure
- the science behind reconstruction
- how experts rebuild faces from skeletal remains
- and probably disappear down a few fascinating rabbit holes while we’re at it 👀
No experience needed at all. This wouldn’t be a formal lecture or an art class, just a welcoming, hands-on evening for curious people who enjoy science, history, anatomy, archaeology, true crime, museums… or simply learning something a bit different.
Tea and biscuits would almost certainly be involved ☕🍪
I’m currently looking at hosting a small group session locally one evening for around 2 hours, likely around £15–20 per person depending on venue costs.
At the moment I’m just seeing whether there’s enough interest before I start hunting for a hall/room and setting a date.
If this sounds like your sort of thing, please comment below or drop me a message 📩
