I hold an enhanced DBS certificate (and I am on the subscription service) and keep my safeguarding training regularly updated through both my healthcare work and my role as a Scouting volunteer. This ensures every session takes place in a safe, supportive environment where children and young people can explore with confidence.

Training and ongoing learning are central to Bugs, Bones & Botany. I draw on my background in healthcare and science, alongside specialist training in outdoor learning, SEN awareness and education, to deliver sessions that are safe, inclusive and engaging.

This experience also underpins my workshops for KS2 and above, where learners explore subjects such as anatomy, forensics, ecology and animal remains through hands-on investigation. Sessions are carefully structured to balance curiosity with safety, allowing children to engage with real scientific concepts in an accessible and supportive way.

By combining professional expertise with a passion for hands-on discovery, I create environments where children can take appropriate risks, build confidence, and fully engage with learning — all while feeling supported and secure.
