Bugs, Bones & Botany CIC was delighted to take part in the Sensory Safe Day at Dorchester Science Festival, working alongside the Institute of Physics and Bournemouth University to create a calm, welcoming space for families to explore science through nature.

Throughout the day we welcomed 42 attendees in total, including 19 adults and 23 children. The event stayed busy all day while still maintaining the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that the Sensory Safe Day is designed to provide.

Families were able to explore real natural science specimens, ask questions, and take part in hands-on discovery at their own pace. It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful exploration from both children and adults.
