Discover Weymouth's past: Mini Dig
Step into the shoes of an archaeologist and uncover the hidden stories beneath our feet! Inspired by discoveries at Weymouth’s historic North Quay, children will take part in their very own mini excavation. Using brushes and tools, they’ll carefully uncover replica artefacts such as pottery, bones, shells, coins, and beads.
As they dig, record, and piece together the finds, children will learn how archaeologists reveal the past — and how everyday objects can tell extraordinary stories about the people who lived before us. Perfect for schools, groups, or parties, activities can be adapted for different ages and curriculum links.
