At Bugs, Bones & Botany, we believe some of the best learning happens when people are free to explore, question and discover.
Our child-led Forest School and outdoor science sessions blend nature play with real scientific investigation, encouraging curiosity through bug hunting, den building, tool use, skeletons, ecosystems, experiments and hands-on discovery. Sessions are designed to build confidence, nurture independence and create meaningful connections with the natural world.
As children grow, so do the opportunities to explore. Alongside our woodland sessions, we offer specialist science workshops for older children, teenagers and adults, delving deeper into fascinating subjects including anatomy, forensic science, archaeology, ecology, osteology and scientific investigation. Complex ideas become accessible through practical experiences, real specimens, models and plenty of opportunities to get hands-on.
Our workshops can be delivered for schools, home education groups, community organisations and events, as well as through our own programme of public workshops, Forest School sessions and holiday activities.
Whether you're joining us for a weekly woodland adventure, holiday club, science workshop or forensic facial reconstruction, expect muddy hands, curious minds, plenty of laughter and discoveries that stay with you long after the day is over. 🪲🦴🌿🔬

We’ve been invited to make ourselves at home in the woodland at Xtreme Falconry and work has officially begun!
We’re busy getting the space ready for plenty of Bugs, Bones & Botany-style adventures: science, nature, exploring, making, investigating and, inevitably, getting a bit muddy.

Netherbury, Bridport Site
Our original woodland home, hidden away just outside Bridport. Wander through mature woodland, explore beside the stream and discover the impressive beaver dams that remain as a reminder of the site's remarkable recent history.
Every visit is different. Children investigate habitats, search for insects, identify plants, build dens, learn practical woodland skills and explore the natural world through curiosity-led science and Forest School activities.
With compost toilets, a kitchenette and acres of woodland to roam, it's a wonderful place to slow down, ask questions and enjoy the outdoors.
