Welcome to Bugs, Bones & Botany CIC
not your normal forest school
At Bugs, Bones & Botany, we believe the best learning happens when children are free to explore, question and discover. Our child-led outdoor sessions blend nature play with real science, encouraging curiosity through bug hunting, den building, tool use, skeletons, ecosystems and hands-on experiments. Every session is designed to build confidence, nurture independence and create meaningful connections with the natural world.
As children grow, so do the opportunities to explore. Alongside our Forest School and nature-based sessions, we offer specialist workshops for older children, teenagers and adults. These delve deeper into fascinating subjects including anatomy, forensic science, archaeology, ecology, osteology and scientific investigation, making complex ideas accessible through practical, hands-on experiences.
Our workshops can be delivered to schools, home education groups, community organisations and events, or enjoyed as part of our own programme of public workshops and holiday activities.
Whether you're joining us for a weekly woodland adventure, a holiday club, or a forensic facial reconstruction workshop, you can expect muddy hands, curious minds, plenty of laughter and discoveries that stay with you long after the day is over.
